Magnolia Commissions

A recap of five custom magnolia paintings.

With my work on view at The Carolina Inn throughout 2025, I had a handful of exciting magnolia commissions come my way over the summer and fall and wanted to document them here on the blog.

Magnolia #1

  • The collector: A UNC alumnae, as a gift for his wife to welcome their new baby, and this was extra special because they were married at the Inn (where one of my magnolia paintings permanently lives!)

  • The details: A 30x40 with buds+blooms in different stages, medium density of foliage and light blue near the top

  • The painting:

Magnolia #2

  • The collector: A former UNC employee and alumna, for her home

  • The details: A 36x48 with 2 to 3 blooms and lots of leaves, inspired by the painting at the Inn

  • The collector: UNC’s Phi Mu sorority

  • The details: A 24x30 inspired by the painting “In Conversation”

Magnolia #4

  • The collector: An art lover to gift her friend who magnolias are special to

  • The details: A 12x16 copy of “The Light Between Leaves,” but with a blue background instead of purple

  • The painting:

Magnolia #5

  • The collector: A friend ordered as a Christmas gift for his UNC alumna wife, who’d been hinting about a magnolia commission from me

  • The details: An 18x24 inspired by my magnolia paintings with several blooms and leaves
